Of course, it's based on my subjective opinion. Moreover, this list will be persistently updated as the year goes on. Here are the best anime in 2019 so far.

Winter 2019

Mob Psycho 100 II

If you haven't seen Mob Psycho 100, it's better for you to catch up because you don't want to miss one of the best anime series ever. There I said it.

If in the first season Mob strived to be a normal middle school student with the help of his best friends, in the second season he changes a lot. He tries to be more confident to speak up about what he feels. He also tries new things to become a better person. And that's what makes this second season so fun and heartwarming.

Mob Psycho 100 II is on another level comparing to its first season in terms of story, character development, animation, and of course action sequences.

The Promised Neverland

This anime is one of the most anticipated anime in 2019 because of the success of its manga. The Promised Neverland or Yakusoku no Neverland tells a story about orphans who live happily in an orphanage. However, their perfect life turns into a nightmare when they realize the orphanage is not like what they think.

The Promised Neverland anime will hook you from the very first episode by taking you on an emotional rollercoaster. The anime is well directed which some scenes are cinematic enough to look like horror thriller movie scenes. The Promised Neverland wants to tell us that there is a harsh reality waiting for children as they grow older.

Dororo

Dororo, via Prime Video
Dororo tells the story of two unfortunate children. Hyakkimaru lost most of his organs after being sacrificed by his father to demons while Dororo is a lonely kid who just wants to survive the cruel world. Together they take a dangerous journey to kill the demons and reclaim Hyakkimaru’s body.

Dororo is a remake of 1969 black and white anime with the same name which is adapted from Osamu Tezuka’s (Astro Boy) manga. The anime tackles complex and dark themes about loss, grief, loneliness, and greed. Luckily, Dororo’s charming and adorable character lightens up the anime.
